The concept of a Christian Crusade may seem one of those things which many of us have feared but have thought, oh it won't happen
yet. Well it's happening. Fundamentalist Christians are running camps for youngsters to indoctrinate them into WAR.
More on the flip ~~
I wish I was kidding. While we have all been focused on the elections, the Christian fundamentalist movement has been focused on war.
There's a new movie out that shows what's happening at "Kids on Fire Summer Camp". It's won a number of awards, including a Tribeca award.
Since I can't embed the video on this blogsiverse, I have a link here to my own blog:
And it's "where kids are taught to become dedicated Christian Soldiers in God's army and are schooled in how to take back America for Christ. The film is a first-ever look into an intense training ground that recruits born-again Christan children to become an active part of America's political future."
Sounds relatively benign, but this is the equivalent of Muslim Madrassas. These kids are being taught to hate, are being taught that we are at war against, apparently from the clip, the Islamic people of the world. They get dressed up in camouflage suites, and put on dramatic skits of them being militarily triumphant. This again is from the clip that I watched.
This was really spooky for me, especially since I have a diverse spiritual background and am currently a Gaian (earth worshipper focusing on the planet as a living being), and these kids are obviously being brainwashed from the very little I've seen. I hope we won't have a whole generation to deprogram
I would like to interview Mike Papantonio on this, and if I get the time with him, I will, and will post it. He is providing counterpoint to this film.
I KEED on my poll.
